Cultural Organizer: Black Appalachian Coalition
Cultural Organizer duties include:

Working closely with community members, artists, and grassroots organizations to develop and build relationships. Organizing community forums, listening sessions, and workshops to foster dialogue and collective action around cultural preservation and justice issues.

Developing and sustaining community partnerships to support cultural organizing efforts. Leading culturally-rooted organizing campaigns addressing key social issues such as environmental justice, racial equity, economic justice, and cultural preservation.

Collaborating with local artists and cultural practitioners to integrate creative strategies into advocacy efforts. Supporting grassroots initiatives that amplify underrepresented voices and challenge systemic injustices.

Planning, coordinating, and executing cultural events, art exhibits, public performances, and storytelling sessions to build awareness and community solidarity. Working with artists, local performers, and community members to design culturally relevant programming.
Narrative Organizer: Black Appalachian Coalition
Narrative Organizer duties include:

Creating and distributing organizational templates for BLAC members

Meeting with Black community members in KY, NC, and VA
-
Scheduling, coordinating, and conducting podcast interviews
-
Meeting for weekly / bi-weekly check-ins.

Attending trainings/workshops/webinars
Research Analyst: Defending American Values Coalition
DAVC Research Analyst duties involve providing research services including but not limited to the following:

Acquiring information, interpreting and analyzing data, identifying trends and patterns, proposing insights and next steps, drafting reports, and presenting findings.

Analyzing information and data provided and independently locating information and data to analyze.

Attending zoom meetings with DAVC’s Executive Director, Communications Director, and Community Engagement Director.

Developing and receiving approval for a work plan that satisfies requirements of assigned research projects.

Recording findings by taking written notes and using appropriate software.
-
Anticipating research issues and promptly resolving them.
-
Drafting proposals and delivering presentations when required.
-
Following a strict code of ethics and protecting any confidential information.
Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of English: Emory & Henry College
English professor duties included:

Meeting with the English department to discuss pedagogy tactics, re-work our English program, and solicit more English majors.

Marking and entering all grades and attendance for all students.

Hosting check-in conferences with students at least once per semester.
